My first attempt at what could be called speed painting. I attempted to render my Archon Lance Fighter I made awhile back.
It sacrifices good looks for all out power and purpose, just like any military machine should.
I designed the Lancer along more realistic principles for what a space fighter should be.
Not a weak fragile thing that's essentially a modern day fighter plane slapped in space, where the pilots still surrounded by a glass bubble cockpit.
Instead its built along the lines of a maneuverable tank that utilizes direction and vectored thrust systems, and the pilot is located within a well armored and sealed pod where visual data is feed into the helmet and screens surrounding it by a multitude of cameras and senor systems around the body of the fighter.
The Lancer is essentially a heavy assault fighter and also a effective capital ship killer, its underbelly ion cannon grants it this capability. And its thick polarized armor allows it to shrug off anti fighter point defenses and get in close and personal.
And still return home at the end of it all.
